Beschreibung:

Dieser Zyklus startete 2016, endete 2020 und umfasst 44 Werke. Es handet sich hierbei um einen "Studienzyklus". Ich habe hier über einen Zeitraum von 4 Jahren mit verschiedenen Elementen der abstrakten Malerei experimentiert. Wie im Jazz kann man in der abstrakten Kunst ein improvisiertes Zusammenspiel erzeugen, welches die aktuelle Gefühls- und Gedankenlage diffus einzufangen weiß. Dabei können ad hoc Bildphrasen entstehen, die in sich harmonisch, oder disharmonisch sind. Beides ist gewünscht.

Erprobt habe ich auch den Schicht-um-Schicht-Prozess, wo durch die unterschiedliche Dichte und der zeitliche Abstand des Farbauftrages Tiefe im Bild, und Reliefs auf dem Malgrund erzeugt werden.

Der Zyklus ist geprägt durch vorwiegend helle, in der Regel nicht allzu dick aufgetragene Farben. Es besteht kein 100%iger roter Faden, der sich durch alle Bilder zieht, gerade weil es sich um einen "Studienzyklus" handet. Das liegt vor allem daran, dass ich mich hier von Werkstück zu Werkstück gearbeitet habe, und mit jedem neuen Bild neues Wissen über die Malerei, mich selber und meinen ureigenen Malprozess gesammelt habe.

"Formen, Farben und Strukturen" inkludiert auch eine Ballon-Serie, in welcher ich auf verschiedene Weise, mal stark figürlich, mal stärker abstrakt Fesselballons in indivduelle Räume gezeichnet habe. Die Ballons selber sprechen mich in Ihrer Form an und symbolisieren die Sehnsucht nach Transzendenz, welche aber auch mit der Angst vor Irrationalität einhergeht. Von einem Prozess in den nächsten hinüberzugleiten, nicht stehen zu bleiben in dem Entdecken der Möglichkeiten, ist für mich ein weiterer Kerngedanke der Serie.

As in jazz, in abstract art you can create an improvised interplay that knows how to diffusely capture the current state of emotions and thoughts. Ad hoc picture phrases can arise that are harmonious or disharmonious in themselves. Both are desired.

I also tried the layer-by-layer process, where the different density and the time interval between the application of paint create depth in the picture and reliefs on the painting surface.

The cycle is characterized by predominantly light colors that are usually not applied too thickly. There is no 100% red thread that runs through all the pictures, precisely because it is a "study cycle". This is mainly due to the fact that I have worked my way from workpiece to workpiece, and with each new picture I have gained new knowledge about painting, myself and my very own painting process.

"Shapes, colors and structures" also includes the balloon series, in which I have drawn tethered balloons in individual rooms in different ways, sometimes strongly figurative, sometimes more abstract. The balloons speak to me in their form and symbolize the longing for transcendence, which also goes hand in hand with the fear of irrationality. To glide over from one process to the next, not to stand still in the discovery of the possibilities, is another core idea of the series for me.
